South Shore Health is the largest independent non-profit health system in southeastern Massachusetts, operating as a tax-exempt charitable organisation. Founded in 1922, it serves the region through a comprehensive care continuum spanning primary and specialty care, hospital services, emergency and urgent care, surgical services, home health, and community health programmes.
The system operates South Shore Hospital as its flagship facility, along with South Shore Medical Center for outpatient services and South Shore Visiting Nurse Association for home health and visiting nurse services. Multiple outpatient locations throughout the South Shore region extend access to care across the area. The organisation employs over 3,400 healthcare professionals and support staff.
South Shore Health has established a partnership with Dana-Farber Brigham Cancer Center to provide specialised cancer treatment and advanced medical services locally. This partnership reflects the system's commitment to delivering world-class care within the community it serves.
