Freeman Health System is a community-based health system serving a four-state area with three hospitals and over 30 locations. Founded in 1925, it is the region's largest employer and largest provider of healthcare services, with more than 3,000 employees representing over 60 specialties.
The system operates specialized institutes and centres across its core clinical domains. The Heart & Vascular Institute and Cancer Institute provide care in cardiology and oncology, whilst the Neurospine Center focuses on spine and neurosurgery. Through the Ozark Center and comprehensive behavioural health services, Freeman is the region's largest behavioural health provider, reflecting the breadth of services available across its network.
Freeman's structure keeps funds, services, and programmes local, with governance designed to be responsive to community needs. The workforce encompasses physicians, nurses, and supporting clinical staff across its specialties, working within a community-focused model of healthcare delivery.
