Tierra del Sol Foundation is a non-profit organisation founded in 1971 that champions inclusion and value for people with developmental disabilities. Headquartered in Sunland, California, it operates across the Greater Los Angeles area and San Bernardino County, with additional locations in Van Nuys, Upland, and West Hollywood. The foundation's core mission focuses on providing pathways to employment, education, and the arts for individuals it serves.
The organisation runs three primary programmes. Its Workforce Development initiative delivers job training, placement, and long-term employment supports. The College to Career (NEXUS) programme offers young adults opportunities to pursue higher education. Through Careers in the Arts, the foundation operates studios where over 145 artists develop professional careers in illustration, painting, ceramics, textiles, and apparel design.
Tierra del Sol Foundation serves over 800 people daily and collaborates with 160 community partners and 31 partner businesses to provide competitively paid employment opportunities. The organisation fosters inclusive workplaces where people with developmental disabilities can contribute, succeed, and be recognised.
