Goodwill of Central & Southern Indiana is a nonprofit organisation founded in 1930, providing education, health, and employment services across 39 counties in central and southern Indiana. The organisation employs more than 4,000 people, more than half of whom themselves have a barrier to employment such as a disability or other challenge. Its mission is to empower individuals to become economically self-sufficient.
The organisation operates a network of more than 70 retail stores alongside charter schools for adults and youth, a maternal-child health programme, and a child care centre. This integrated model addresses multiple dimensions of independence - employment, education, and healthcare - rather than focusing on a single intervention.
Goodwill of Central & Southern Indiana works across several sectors, including retail, education, healthcare, and job training. Its presence spans a broad geographic footprint in Indiana, combining direct service provision with the commercial operations of its retail network.
