HORNBACH Baumarkt AG is a German DIY and home improvement retailer operating 171 megastores with garden centers across nine European countries. Founded in 1977 and part of a family business tradition stretching back to 1877, the company employs over 22,000 people and recorded sales of EUR 5.1 billion in the 2020/2021 financial year.
Each store carries an assortment of approximately 50,000 articles spanning hardware, electrical supplies, paint, flooring, construction materials, sanitary products, tiles, and garden supplies. Alongside its physical retail footprint, HORNBACH operates online shops and offers professional project advisory services catering to both private DIY customers and professional buyers.
The company's operations span two core formats: large-format megastores with integrated garden centers, and e-commerce channels that extend its product range digitally. Its advisory services are positioned to support customers across the full scope of home and garden projects, from initial planning through to completion.
