Founded in 1959, WCI is an employer association based in the southeastern United States. The organization serves more than 800 work sites across Western North Carolina, the South Carolina Upstate, Eastern Tennessee, and Western Virginia. It began with 13 member companies in six counties and has since expanded its reach significantly.
WCI supports employers by providing a range of services designed to promote positive, compliant, and productive workplaces. These include compliance training and counseling, leadership and supervisory development, employee training, safety services, and human resource development. The association also administers health benefits for member employers and assists with the development and implementation of affirmative action plans.
The organization leverages collective member power to achieve economies of scale, addressing critical business needs such as healthcare, training, lobbying, and risk reduction. WCI's mission focuses on helping members develop relationships with employees that promote workplace harmony and engagement, while fostering alignment between employee goals and organizational objectives.
