Stand Together is a philanthropic community founded in 2003 that brings together thousands of members - including nonprofit leaders, business executives, philanthropists, and community activists - to support social entrepreneurs tackling America's most pressing problems. The organization operates across education, criminal justice, economic opportunity, free speech, and community strengthening.
The organisation provides its partners with three forms of support: funding, access to a peer network, and a playbook for implementation. Its approach is grounded in Principle Based Management™, a framework designed to empower team members and partners to make autonomous decisions aligned with shared principles of dignity, openness, mutual benefit, and self-actualization.
Stand Together's model reflects a bottom-up philosophy: rather than prescribing solutions from above, the organisation distributes decision-making authority to partners and individuals closest to the problems they aim to solve. This structure shapes both its internal operations and how it engages with the social entrepreneurs in its network, emphasizing long-term value creation and sustainable impact over short-term metrics.
