Sauna, founded in 2021 and headquartered in San Francisco's Presidio, is building an AI agent designed to learn how individuals and teams work. The company's core product connects to over 3,000 tools and apps, building a comprehensive understanding of workflows and autonomously handling tasks such as drafting messages, tracking updates, filing tickets, and delivering briefings. A multiplayer feature enables team members to share context and memory across an organisation, reducing information silos.
The company operates at the intersection of AI agents, workflow automation, cloud computing, and deterministic software. It serves the knowledge work and productivity sectors, positioning itself within the growing field of AI-driven workflow tools.
Sauna raised a $30 million seed round - the largest in Y Combinator's history - with backing from Y Combinator, Spark Capital, and Felicis. The team numbers approximately 20 people and works in-office five days a week.
