LiveOnNY is a nonprofit organ procurement organization (OPO) with federal designation, operating since 1978. Its mission centres on saving lives through the recovery and placement of organs, eyes, and tissue for transplantation. The organisation serves a population of roughly 13 million residents across New York City, Long Island, and the lower Hudson Valley.
Over its history, LiveOnNY has facilitated donations that have saved more than 28,000 lives. In the past three years, the organisation has reported a 70% increase in organ donation, reflecting expanded recovery capacity and coordination within its service area.
As a federally designated OPO, LiveOnNY works at the intersection of healthcare logistics, clinical coordination, and community outreach.
