IEHP describes itself as the largest not-for-profit Medicare-Medicaid public health plan in the country.
The organisation covers more than 1.5 million members through a network of over 8,000 providers. Its work spans health insurance administration, care coordination, quality improvement, and programmes addressing social determinants of health, with a focus on ensuring vulnerable populations have access to care. IEHP holds NCQA accreditation.
IEHP's operations are concentrated in California's Inland Empire region, where it functions both as an insurer and as a community health actor. Its activities include managing comprehensive benefit plans across its three programme lines as well as coordinating services for members with complex needs.
