Turion Space, founded in 2021 and based in Irvine, California, is an aerospace company developing space infrastructure. Its work spans space domain awareness, non-Earth imaging, in-space servicing, orbital transport, refueling, rendezvous proximity operations, and debris removal. The company has two successful missions on orbit and has secured 29 government contracts with agencies including the U.S. Space Force, NASA, the National Reconnaissance Office, and DARPA.
The company's DROID series spacecraft are designed for highly maneuverable missions such as orbital transport, refueling, servicing, and debris removal. Turion also operates the Starfire NEXUS platform, which aims to provide access to on-orbit compute. A dedicated mission software division delivers end-to-end mission planning, integrating modeling and simulation with ground and flight software through a unified command and control platform. Turion was the first U.S. commercial provider licensed for resolved non-Earth imaging.
Turion Space has raised over $112 million across seed, Series A, and Series B funding rounds. The company's operational focus includes missions in low Earth orbit (LEO) and geostationary orbit (GEO), serving the aerospace, defense, and national security sectors.
