Steel Dynamics, headquartered in Fort Wayne, Indiana, is one of the largest domestic steel producers and metal recyclers in North America. Founded in 1993, the company operates seven electric arc furnace (EAF) steel mills with an annual steel shipping capability of approximately 16 million tons. It uses a circular manufacturing model that relies on recycled ferrous scrap to produce lower-carbon-emission steel products.
The company’s product portfolio spans a range of industrial metals solutions, including hot roll, cold roll, and coated sheet steel; structural beams and shapes; rail; engineered special-bar-quality steel; merchant bar products; and specialty steel sections. Its downstream fabrication platform produces structural steel joist and deck building systems for the construction sector. An aluminum operations division, Aluminum Dynamics, is also being invested in to diversify the company's offerings.
Steel Dynamics has been recognised by the Global Steel Climate Council for its commitment to science-based greenhouse gas emissions targets. The company’s operations cover steel production, steel fabrication, metals recycling, value-added coating, and aluminum development across North America.
