Seasats builds autonomous, solar-powered surface vehicles that operate as persistent maritime intelligence platforms. The company's flagship Lightfish platform is a hand-deployable autonomous surface vehicle (ASV) designed for long-endurance missions, capable of autonomous operation for up to six months and proven to traverse over 7,500 miles across the Pacific Ocean in 150 days. The vehicle operates in challenging sea conditions up to sea state 6 and requires no human intervention once deployed.
The platform supports a modular payload architecture with over 50 integrated sensor options, enabling missions across intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance; oceanographic data collection; environmental monitoring including toxic algal bloom tracking; wildlife monitoring; submarine signal detection; and hurricane path monitoring. This flexibility allows customers to reconfigure vehicles for different operational requirements without redesigning core systems.
Seasats serves the U.S. Navy, defence organisations, leading research universities, and commercial maritime enterprises across Africa, Asia, Europe, North America, South America, and Australia/Oceania. The company emphasises the accessibility and field portability of its systems, with vehicles deployable by hand from a pickup truck, positioning them as practical tools for fisheries enforcement, maritime security, environmental monitoring, and disaster response operations.
