Sandbar is an interface company developing technology intended to augment human thinking. The firm operates from New York City and works across human-computer interaction, wearable technology, voice recognition, and hardware design. It has raised $23 million in Series A funding.
The company's first product, Stream, is a voice-enabled wearable ring. The device captures thoughts, notes, and conversations through whisper-to-text functionality that works across applications. It features a glass touchpad with haptic feedback, an aluminum-resin body, and a custom curved battery designed for all-day use, with instant switching between iOS and Mac devices.
Sandbar was founded by former employees of Meta who previously worked together at CTRL-labs, a neural interface company acquired by Meta in 2019. The company has been covered by publications including The Wall Street Journal, Bloomberg, Wired, and Fast Company.
