REGENT, founded in 2020 and based in North Kingstown, Rhode Island, develops and manufactures all-electric Seaglider vessels. These wing-in-ground-effect vehicles fly just above the water's surface, aiming to combine the high speed of an airplane with the operational convenience of a boat that can use existing dock infrastructure. The company operates from the world's first Seaglider Manufacturing Facility.
The company's primary product, the Seaglider, is designed for coastal routes with a projected range of up to 180 miles at 180 mph using current battery technology, with potential to reach 400 miles with next-generation batteries. A defense variant, Seaglider Defense, is intended for military logistics, medical evacuation, and reconnaissance missions. REGENT's commercial order book exceeds $10 billion, and it holds contracts with the U.S. Marine Corps valued at $15 million.
The firm's technical focus spans aerospace, maritime engineering, and all-electric propulsion systems. Its backers include investors who have also supported SpaceX, Anduril, and Archer Aviation. The team brings together expertise from both the aerospace and maritime sectors.
