Plus Power develops, owns, and operates standalone battery energy storage systems (BESS) across the United States. The company manages 1,650 MW and 4,150 MWh of capacity currently operating or under construction, with 11+ gigawatts in development across more than 20 states. Operating facilities are located in Arizona, Hawaii, Maine, Massachusetts, and Texas.
The company's portfolio includes several significant projects. Its Kapolei facility in Hawaii provides 17% of Oahu's 1,100 MW peak load, while the Rodeo Ranch system in Texas responds during extreme weather events. Plus Power recently brought New England's largest utility-scale battery energy storage system online in Maine. These systems deliver grid reliability services with millisecond response times during peak demand, winter storms, and energy scarcity events.
Plus Power manages the full project lifecycle, from greenfield development through operations and maintenance, using data-driven site selection and optimization. The company focuses on transmission congestion relief and transmission efficiency improvement. In 2025, Morgan Stanley committed $160 million in tax equity investment for Plus Power's battery storage projects in the ISO-New England region.
