Gritt Robotics builds AI-powered robotic systems and foundation models designed to automate solar infrastructure construction. The company's technology addresses labour constraints and safety risks in renewable energy projects by automating repetitive outdoor tasks across solar installations, from site preparation through component placement.
The core product is a robotic system engineered to operate reliably in challenging outdoor conditions - heavy mud, uneven terrain - while integrating into existing installation workflows. According to the company, the system amplifies labour tenfold, works five times faster than manual installation, and delivers consistent placement accuracy. Gritt has also developed AI-driven foundation models that enable rapid scaling across multi-gigawatt installations whilst reducing costs relative to traditional approaches.
The company has gained recognition within the energy sector. It was named a Top U.S. Solar Innovator by the U.S. Department of Energy and won Round 7 of the American-Made Solar Prize, selected from over 800 competing startups. Gritt is backed by venture capital firms with track records in companies including Uber, Notion, Lyft, and Fervo.
