Government Employees Health Association, Inc. (GEHA) is a nonprofit health and dental benefit provider serving federal employees, retirees, military retirees and their families. Founded in 1937 by postal employees as a mutual aid society, the association operates from its headquarters in Lee's Summit, Missouri, and covers more than 2 million lives nationwide through access to millions of healthcare providers. It employs approximately 1,600 people.
GEHA's product range spans several federal benefit programmes. Its FEHB Plans provide comprehensive medical coverage for federal employees, while PSHB Plans serve postal employees and retirees. FEDVIP Dental Plans offer dental coverage with no in-network deductibles or waiting periods, and Medicare Advantage Plans serve eligible members. The association also provides telehealth access and wellness reward programmes worth up to $500–$1,000 annually.
As a member-built nonprofit, GEHA reinvests profits into benefits and services. Its technical work concentrates on health and dental benefits administration, telehealth services and wellness programmes. Community activity includes the G.E.H.A Gives programme and a Learn to Swim Program reaching more than 5,000 students, alongside partnerships with veteran support organisations Carry the Load, the Elizabeth Dole Foundation and Folds of Honor.
