Domeyard was a quantitative trading firm based in Boston, Massachusetts. Founded in 2012, it ran a fully automated high-frequency trading system that used sophisticated mathematical models to extract signals from market data and execute trades timed to the order of nanoseconds. The system traded across multiple asset classes and exchanges, including equities, futures, fixed income, energy products and commodities.
At its peak, the firm traded billions of dollars a day and processed more order messages than Google searches and Twitter combined, placing it among the fastest market participants in the world. Its technical work spanned high-frequency and algorithmic trading, mathematical modelling, low-latency systems and signal processing. Domeyard was a member of several exchanges, a registered swap firm and a member of the National Futures Association (NFA). Its backers included Renaissance Technologies co-founder Howard Morgan and Acadian Asset Management founder Gary Bergstrom.
After more than ten years of operation, Domeyard wound down its operations and returned capital to investors. The firm cited headwinds to its trading strategies, challenges with scalability and competition for talent among the factors behind the decision.
