Digital Asset builds the Canton Network, a blockchain purpose-built for institutional finance, and the Daml smart-contract platform. Founded in 2014, the company develops technology that allows organizations to synchronize data and transactions across boundaries while retaining privacy and control, with the aim of eliminating reconciliation and enabling risk-free settlement. Its work is directed at institutional finance, capital markets and market infrastructure, spanning asset tokenization, collateral management, onchain payments and digital wallets.
Two products anchor the business. Canton Network is designed to bring real-world assets onchain at the scale global markets require; more than $10 trillion in tokenized real-world assets sit across the Canton economy. Daml is a platform and language for building applications that synchronize data and transactions across boundaries, and is used in production by over 250 market leaders.
The company collaborates with large financial institutions, market infrastructure providers and technology firms, and maintains a global workforce across six offices: its New York City headquarters, London, Zurich, Budapest, Hong Kong and Sydney. Engineering work spans distributed ledger technology, smart contracts, privacy-preserving technology and scalability for global markets.
