Common Sense Machines (CSM) builds a generative AI platform that turns 2D assets - images, videos and sketches - into fully textured, production-ready 3D models. The system supports image-to-3D, text-to-3D and sketch-to-3D generation modes, and is designed to produce game-ready assets with high mesh quality. The work draws on computer vision, 3D mesh generation and inference-time computation.
The company was founded in 2020 and is based in Cambridge, Massachusetts. It operates at seed stage and is venture-backed. Its founders have roots at MIT and DeepMind, and the team collectively founded three companies with successful exits.
CSM's stated aim is to make 3D content creation faster, cheaper and less technically demanding. The platform is aimed at the gaming, AR/VR, 3D design and digital content creation industries.
