The College of the Holy Cross is an exclusively-undergraduate Jesuit and Catholic liberal arts college in Worcester, Massachusetts. Founded in 1843, it has operated for more than 180 years and enrolls more than 3,000 students, taught by 300 faculty members. Admissions are highly selective.
The college offers more than 60 academic programs spanning the humanities, sciences, social sciences and the arts. Its curriculum is built on interdisciplinary collaboration, innovation and experimentation, and on dialogue about basic human questions and the moral character of learning. The stated aim is to educate students to become skilled, discerning leaders in business, professional and civic life.
Work at Holy Cross takes place within a community of students, alumni, faculty, administrators and staff engaged in the pursuit of knowledge, self-discovery and higher purpose. The institution is dedicated to the highest intellectual and ethical standards, to care for the physical and mental well-being of its members, and to justice for the marginalised, including responsibility to the world's poor and powerless.
