Chariot Defense is a defense technology company founded in 2024 that develops software-defined power distribution systems for the military's tactical edge. The company, based in the San Francisco Bay Area, emerged from stealth in 2024 and is backed by investors including Andreessen Horowitz and General Catalyst.
Its product, Amphora Edge Power, is a family of transportable power systems designed for sustained military operations. The platforms integrate high-voltage batteries, solid-state power electronics and orchestration software into mobile form factors built for use beyond the grid. The technical work spans power electronics, hardware-software integration, high-voltage battery systems and energy storage and distribution.
Chariot Defense has been awarded a Defense Innovation Unit (DIU) contract to build the Army's tactical power grid. The company's stated focus is on solving the military's power bottleneck through power-aware, software-native systems intended for prolonged operations.
