Anza is a research and development lab focused on building and maintaining core infrastructure for the Solana blockchain. Its primary output is Agave, Solana's majority validator client - the software that runs the network's consensus and transaction processing at scale. The team has deep roots in Solana Labs and brings hands-on experience with the protocol's inner workings.
Beyond Agave, Anza develops and maintains a range of tools and frameworks that underpin the Solana ecosystem. These include Pinocchio, a minimal Rust framework for writing Solana programs, and Alpenglow, an advanced consensus mechanism under active research. The lab also produces developer SDKs and tooling designed to make building on Solana more accessible and efficient.
Anza operates as an open-source contributor and collaborator, maintaining active repositories on GitHub and working alongside other teams in the Solana ecosystem. Its engineering work spans validator client development, consensus research, on-chain program frameworks, and protocol-level Rust development - making it one of the more technically deep organisations in the blockchain infrastructure space.
